Bluebells in May in little Gipton Wood, at the end of our road. Heaven on earth.

I write about gardens for On: Yorkshire magazine. Here’s something I prepared earlier, about this gorgeous flower

I am a writer and dance/movement practitioner in Leeds, West Yorkshire. I teach at the West Yorkshire Playhouse and when I am not there I am either writing freelance books and articles, or digging in my garden, or learning fiendishly hard Hungarian grammar. Hungary is my favourite place, after Yorkshire!

  1. Hi Barney – I posted this on the On: Yorkshire site…

Lovely writing, Barney. I enjoyed this very much. And of course, you’re quite right about Yorkshire bluebell woods – ours, Wombwell Wood still has loads, I believe – though not a patch my mum says, as when she was young. And no doubt she’s right.
